Hotel Almonds & Corals

Hotel Almonds and Corals are located 25 kilometers south from Cahuita National Park, southern part of the Limon Province at the Caribbean Coast, in the heart of the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge.

Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge is a delightful relaxing place with the magic touch of Nature; a unique idea for accommodation.

This beautiful refuge has an area of 9,449 hectares (4,436 marine and 5,013 lands). Located in Talamanca, its coastline stretches from the mouth of the Río Cocles near Puerto Viejo to the mouth of the Sixaola on the Panamanian border. Its highest point is the Manzanillo hills at 185 meters above sea level. Its wooded floodplains and hills are home to tree species such as cativo, caobilla, yolillo palm, mangrove and mountain almond. Monkeys, including spider monkeys, crocodiles, peccaries, agoutis and other animals make up the predominant wildlife. There is also a large variety of birds, such as parrots, harriers, toucanets and more. Beautiful beaches cover the entire coast, excellent for walking, sunbathing, swimming, nature-watching and diving in the reefs.

Rooms (Tents) Hotel

This is a rare opportunity to get a feeling for the jungle, living in the wild while maintaining a level of luxury.

Yes, the bedroom in a tent. Hotel Almonds and Corals is a lodge tented camp. Place a tent up on stilts on a wooden platform. Protect the platform with a roof and drape it with mosquito netting. Put electricity night lamps, a fan, 2 beds, a hammock, and a small table with two chairs, jungle view and a bathroom by the tent. Add a gold sand beach, a restaurant incrust rated in the jungle with excellent meals, a bar, a marvelous staff , a Jacuzzi in the heart of the rainforest and camping might not be so rustic after all.

Each tent at Hotel Almonds and Corals lies under giant trees in a forest so dense that the sunrays hardly touch the ground.

Each tent is placed over a platform lifted up on stilts and orchids hang from the branches and like in a fairy tale, as you walk through the enchanted forest, by passages on stilts, suddenly you are in front of the magnificent Caribbean with your feet on golden sand, coconuts and the bay of Manzanillo where you can almost hear the rhythm of Calypso.

Hotel Cariblue

Hotel Cariblue is the ideal place to relax and enjoy nature in comfort. A leader among Costa Rica hotels, Hotel Cariblue offers luxurious hardwood bungalows nestled in exotic tropical gardens between the pristine white sand beach of Playa Cocles and lush natural jungle.

Hotel Cariblue is just steps away from the beautiful white sand beach of Playa Cocles. Hotel Cariblue is one of the premier beach hotels in Costa Rica, for beach lovers of all kinds, from serious surfers to those who just want to play in the sand. Also there are other beautiful beaches to explore that will leave you breathless. Some beaches have restaurants, kayak rentals, and horse back riding.

Hotel Cariblue provides the finest lodging among hotels in the Puerto Viejo, Limon area of Costa Rica. The spacious rooms are in palm-thatched duplex bungalows, with private bathrooms decorated in mosaic, hot water, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, and inviting porches with hammocks. Hotel Cariblue also offers a house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a furnished kitchen.

Enjoy the award-winning service and the full range of amenities and facilities in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Paradise is waiting for you!

Hotel Cariblue is one of the nicest beach hotels in Costa Rica. Right in front of the entrance to Hotel Cariblue is the beautiful white sand beach of Cocles Beach (actually, this beach is referred to locally as "Beach Break"). This is generally agreed to be the best surfing beach in the area. It has a good wave and no reef (unlike the famous Salsa Brava beach in Puerto Viejo, which has very dangerous reefs). Many of the local surfers as well as travelers from all over the world come to Costa Rica to surf. This beach is also an excellent place for the casual beachgoer, since it has graceful palms to provide shade and perfect sand for sunbathing. So at Cariblue, you have one of the nicest beaches in the area right outside your front door.

Between Hotel Cariblue and Puerto Viejo, there is a beautiful grove of trees with an open, park-like atmosphere. The beach in this region has wonderful coral reefs. This is an excellent spot for nature hikes and sightseeing.

In the town of Puerto Viejo itself, there is of course the famous Salsa Brava beach, which has some of the best surfing in Costa Rica (only for expert surfers, though!). Puerto Viejo also has an excellent sheltered harbor, many beach front restaurants, hotels, shops, and a pleasant, rustic atmosphere.

In the opposite direction from Puerto Viejo, there is a long beautiful stretch of pristine beach which extends past Playa Chiquita to Punta Uva, Manzanillo and beyond to Monkey Point (Punta Mona) and Gandoca.

Much of this region is under protection by the government of Costa Rica as a wildlife reserve, and is a wonderful place for nature hiking. The beach in this region has tranquil tide pools which are perfect for swimming, beautiful coral reefs, and lush jungle coming right down to the sand.
