Savegre River Rafting
|
Both the
adventuresome beginner and the more experienced rafter can
appreciate the upper Savegre river trip. It is one of the most
beautiful rivers in the rainforest and offers a host of exotic
plants and wildlife to view.
Savegre
River offers explosive white water rafting action The upper
Savegre trip is sure to win the heart and soul of the
vacationing thrill-seeker. This will rafting trip will require
precise and complex manoeuvring due to the turbulence of the
waters.
The long and
irregular waves will be exhilarating for those who seek the
adventure of a tropical rafting experience. Let the adrenalin
flow as fast as these waters. From Jan - April the rapids will
likely be class II and III then in May to Dec. class III and IV.
This full
day adventure includes an incredible 4/wheel drive journey which
takes you in to a very remote back country of the Savegre River
for a 4 hour guided Rafting trip with class II / III / IV rapids
in rafts for 6 people. There are great swimming holes and a
large variety of birds and primary jungles (egrets, toucans,
osprey, parrots, kingfishers, and cormorants).
We will stop
in a little village called “Cope Silencio” for a Tico style
lunch in a thatched roof restaurant with great views and a
nature path. We also stop at some of the most beautiful
waterfalls in the area with many blooming heliconias in this
shady garden of Eden.

Naranjo River Rafting
|
On this half
day white water adventure you will encounter challenging rapids
surrounded by a pristine jungle. If you are a first time or
experienced paddle looking for the excitement of big waves,
hydraulics, and stunning scenery, then this trip is for you!
The drive
from your hotel to the put-in is only 30 min. (aprox.). At the
Naranjo river we will provide you with a flotation device, a
helmet and a paddle and your professional white water rafting
guide will give you a safety orientation. We will then jump in
the rafts and start negotiating rapids like "Robin Hood" and
"Hurricane Caesar."
Half way
through we will stop to catch our breath while enjoying some
snacks and fresh fruit on the river shore. At the end of the
trip our transportation will be waiting for you to take you back
to your hotel.

Mangrove Damas Island Kayak

Paddle
protected inland waterways, a perfect place to learn this
magical way of exploring coastal mangrove areas and seeing
wildlife. None of this trip is in the open ocean and the pace of
this trip is according to your abilities. Lunch is at great
seafood restaurant.

This is a
new experience, super interesting for those visitors, a new
option and it is to paddle Damas Island estuary at night, easy
for every one, with our company and our specialized equipment
that is not going to affect or change the mangrove ecosystem. We
are going to observe and great variety of animals that lives
here and in whish cases its habitat is nocturnal; in a fresh and
relaxing ambience.

Tacori
Horseback Riding
|
Everyday at
07:30am, we are ready to begin horseback riding, through the
marvelous private reserve named "Tacori".
It was named
in honor of the chief of the Indians that used to live in this
area. It is located 30 minutes Norwest of Manuel Antonio beach.
Once you get
there you will have the opportunity to ride healthy and
beautiful horses, through the peaceful primary rainforest. Only
two families live in the area where the tour takes place.
Afternoons
are perfect for bird watching (toucans) and monkey spotting. It
is also great for a short walk into the primary rainforest where
one has the opportunity to explore and enjoy two beautiful
waterfalls.
At the first
waterfall we will stop for excellent snacks that include fresh
fruit and natural juices. At the second waterfall one can go for
a swim in the pristine waters. It will be a refreshing enjoyable
experience.

Manuel Antonio
National Park |
The National
Park was founded in 1972 to safeguard the region’s wildlife and
vegetation. In addition, there are five protected beaches
inside the park. There are more than a 100 types of mammals,
over 110 types of birds, and numerous reptiles and insects. Our
knowledgeable naturalist guides will point out the abundant
surrounding wildlife.
Watch
carefully, because the park’s inhabitants are all around;
white-faced capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, red back squirrel
monkeys, three toed and two toed sloths, agoutis, coatis, bright
land crabs, various butterflies, pelicans, common black hawks,
laughing falcons, kingfishers and toucans are but some of the
exotic creatures you may encounter during your visit!
Manuel
Antonio is one of the foremost nature spots in all of Central
America, it is filled with all kinds of wildlife from the land,
water and sky. For those interested in seeing exotic animals in
their natural habitat, this is the best place to be!
The tour
begins with a pick up from your hotel and a 5 to 10 minute drive
to the park. From here you will begin your 3 ˝ hour magical
tour, as you hike along the trails you will be astounded by the
mixture of exotic flora and fauna and the sea. Half way through
the hike, we stop to rest and enjoy a snack of cold water, fruit
and cookies before we continue on with the rest of the tour.
The tour
lasts half a day and includes naturalist tour guide with
spotting equipment, transportation, snack, and entrance fees.
It is
recommended to bring binoculars, camera, sunscreen, bug spray,
light clothing, hiking shoes or sports sandals. Bathing suit and
towel if you plan to stay to swim in the Park after the tour and
light poncho from May thru December. |

Mangrove Damas Island Boat

During this
tours, you will discover more about the ecosystem that makes up
the mangrove forest. The key points are conservation, and the
wildlife that exists within. This excursion includes an
explanation about the history of Quepos and how it was founded.

natural phenomenon, stressed by a recent earthquake that divided

preserved and the calm waters of the canals make the area an

Carara
National Park

Once you’ve
satiated yourself with Manuel Antonio National Park and its
beaches, try something new located only about 1 hour away –
Carara National Park. Although located very close to Manuel
Antonio and near Jaco, this hiking tour and natural sanctuary in
a bio-diverse reserve is dramatically different in terms of
wildlife and plant species than our “other” national park,
Manuel Antonio.
Enjoy a
relaxing hike for a few hours through the tropical rain forest
with our highly educated, very well-trained bilingual
naturalists and guides. On your Carara National Park experience,
unlike Manuel Antonio National Park, you will spot unforgettable
giant Red Macaws above the forest canopy and extraordinary
crocodiles lying below the Tárcoles River Bridge adjacent to
Carara National Park.

large groups who haven’t driven to Manuel Antonio from San Jose

through of a series of suspension platforms which are situated

platforms are connected by steel cables that have been specially
designed for people to slide across, allowing you to discover
the flora and fauna of the tropical forest first hand.

will travel on suspension cables from platform to platform while
enjoying the moist tropical forest teaming with wildlife. The
cables and harnesses were designed by expert engineers and the
ride is completely safe.
The steel
cables are ˝ inch thick, and the 14 platforms can hold up to
2,000 pounds for your safety. The 11 cables total over 4,921.26
feet - that's over 1 mile! Ride through the canopy of the
primary and secondary forest where you will see a wide variety
of animals, birds and tropical plants.
